Part two of my theories. The other one was my main ideas, whereas these ones are a bit shorter.

Elroy’s Ambitions

I’m doubling down on my pre-Kuro theory. Elroy is Van’s ‘father’ but not a true parent in the nurturing side of the role. Kuro didn’t disprove this theory, but it didn’t exactly confirm it either. We do know Van is an orphan so his parentage is a mystery.

Elroy’s eyes and new seemingly demonic S-Craft suggest there may be some biological component to van being Vagrantz-Zion, but seeing as The Gralsritter doesn’t actively hunt Elroy down and Lucrezia thinks he has no supernatural powers, let’s wait and see if this is the case. Nevertheless, just know I still think Van is his son and my position hasn’t changed.

I believe Elroy does his best work by combining really terrible things to make even stronger terrible things. We’ve seen this with his preference towards biological and chemical weapons but also his behavior. Elroy was responsible for ‘mixing’ the remnants of the Order of The Moonlight Horse and the D.G Cult to make something worse: Garden, a criminal organization that combines the supernatural knowledge and artifacts of the Cult with the combat skills and operations of the Order. Elroy is stated to have studied every crime in history. In Sen IV, there is a line (missing from the English localization) that assassins would mix different poisons to make something stronger. This was in reference to the rivalries doing something similar with the Divine Knights. Elroy almost certainly has this knowledge from his background in the Order and it seem to be his Modus Operandi now.

He then supervised the culling of the Order’s leadership, possibly in order to mix something even more potent up with what is left. We see this with Ixs, Yolda and possibly Garden-Master. The Kuro II promotional CID videos confirm the real name of the Organization is the ‘Four Gardens’ which might not only be a reference to the four branches, but also the fact it is the Fourth Anguis’s project to grow something for his plan. There’s probably a pun on ‘Garden of Death’ in there somewhere too.

So what does Elroy even want with a son and what kind of crime surpasses the carnival and Pandemonium? Who is he trying to frame? The truth is I don’t really know at this point, but I’m certain whatever is left of garden is a key ingredient. Ixs and Yolda are probably another operative pair like Swin and Nadia. Maybe there’s a key artefact that Elroy wants to mix into something (Something viewed as very heretical by the Church). Perhaps he’s the one that mixed Van with something from the Outside/Beyond given to him by/ obtained from the Grandmaster before birth, as well as something demonic or an artefact. It would explain why the church is after him!

Renne’s Abilities

Hajimari strongly implied Renne has something to do with the Astral Code and that her analytical genius and abilities might be connected to it. This occurs when Novartis gets called out by Renne in the Rosenberg Studio and Novartis makes a comment about the ‘code reaching all the way to him’. Renne has no idea what he is talking about. With the cult, Quatre, Rosenberg and Renne returning to the stage, it seems like the perfect chance to elaborate on why Renne is so special.

Gramheart’s Bloodline

Gramheart is a man of many resources. He skillfully won the presidential election, is pragmatic, and is not afraid to deal under the table with Ouroboros. He is viewed as a difficult man to deal with by the Grandmaster and is Ouroboros’ primary rival going forward. There are not many groups that Ouroboros would give this praise to lightly. He even has a plan of his own, the ‘Possible Worlds’ plan.

As a member of an ancient bloodline, the Eldarions, Calvard’s royal family, Gerard is particularly interested in Gramheart. It figures he one of the most informed when it comes to bloodlines and ancestry. He comments that he is surprised Gramheart managed to combine his bloodline with that of Epstein’s. This is surprising because Epstein adopted his known children and therefore wouldn’t have any blood relation. The very comment suggests Gramheart is himself very special.

Ancient bloodlines are very special in Kiseki, having unusually high mana. Noble and royalty type characters are typically strong arts users or mages. There are lots of examples: The Arnor family (Olivert, Cedric, Alfin), Auslese (Klaudia), Musse, Jusis, the Hexen Clan, even Alisa as a descendent of the Gnomes. Even Elie has some noble blood. Agnes having strong abilities in this area definitely lends credence to the idea she has an old bloodline of her own, and Gerard’s comments solidify this. But she isn’t a direct blood relation of Epstein as far as we know. The fact Agnes seems to be drawn to the Genesis, and possibly the one responsible for the effect it has in Kuro II might be because of her heritage.

Other areas I am really interested in:

• What is Nina’s deal and why she apparently has telepathy?
• Gouran’s mysterious past and what the Lai’ family’s connection to the plot as a whole is.
• Bergard’s absence (although I’m certain this is because he has a spoilery outfit, following his reveal to the world as not being dead, possibly Gralsritter outfit?).
• Why the last Genesis is in 4 pieces?
• Whether Garden-master really is Ace? The coat, gloves, presence of Swin/Nadia, promotion of 3&9, ‘A’ ornaments on his coat and greatsword certainly suggest it is.
• Where does Grimcats come from and how does it fit into the puzzle?
• Ashen’s red eyes.
• Who are the forces attacking Edith? Anti-immigration affiliated groups? MTSC? Whomever it is was capable of shooting down a Calvardian airship into the presidential palace.
• What is in the mountains that Mare recognized? Was Ikaruga guarding the same thing?
• Edith doesn’t have a primal ground, but does Oración as the original capital?
