We have yet another submission from Danny R for a theory!
I’m really glad to see that my previous theory here was well received. I’m so glad that I’ve decided to write my longest theory next, second only to the king of unknowing speculation and our favorite chancellor, Gillianth Osborne.

I’ll begin this topic off by discussing the role the old Class VII will play in Cold Steel 3. I have no doubts that they will appear in Cold Steel 3, I don’t think anyone does. The real question is if they’ll reprise their old roles or not.
We last see the ladies and gentlemen of Class VII (Take a shot every time someone addresses the class in that manner in CS1 to get a small buzz) heading off to fulfill their dreams. Xseed’s Trails Facebook group has confirmed that everyone but Rean has graduated early, with Rean being the sole exception as he goes on to his second year. They all leave saying that all Rean needs to do is say the word and they’ll come running.
Like I stated earlier, there is no doubt that Rean will pull those strings or make those calls. In fact, I have a feeling that the final segments of Cold Steel 3 will give every single member of Class VII’s alumni to show off how much they’ve grown, both as people and badass fighters. I have no evidence, direct or indirect, that will happen; I have a strong feeling it will happen because that would be an excellent way to Book End the trilogy and it would be awesome. Well, Cold Steel 2 did have a similar moment with the adults after the boss battles in the Infernal Castle, it’s only thematically appropriate the same goes for the new generation.
As for their roles in the rest of the game, I have a hunch the roles will be minor. Class VII’s year of 1206 have graduated. Thors has recognized them as adults, and as such it is their duty to become the foundation of the world. Class VII’s near unanimous graduation can also mean that they are on the same social level as the adults who supported them during their field studies and the civil war, they are now part of the Kiseki lore.
Holy crap.
Rean is staying at Thors because he still has more development to go—he doesn’t consider himself worthy to be recognized as a fully functioning, independent adult. I could’ve used this for my “Rean will be Sen III’s Protagonist?” theory.
Hold on… seven Divine Knights, Class VII, the last Divine Knight battle in CS2 features multiple knights, two Sept-Terrion, two kinds of combat …
Ahem.
It seems I found a new theory in the middle of writing this one. I wonder if this is how Kondo feels while he writes his games.
Well with all of that said and slight tangent, I’ve almost reached the same length as my previous theory so in honor of the pacing of the Kiseki games, I shall stop here and make you wait who knows how long before I get to the second, significantly larger half of my story and wait even longer for the third, final part of the story that answers the questions you really care about.
Also special thanks to Yotaka for helping me realize the theory I came up with while writing this one and realizing how bloody brilliant the final boss pacing is of the Cold Steel games.
