Class VII – Graduating from Cold Steel II to Cold Steel III

Let’s talk about the characters of Class VII, and what is expected to happen to them, post-Cold Steel II.

More details are, of course, behind the cut, because of spoilers. Not only for CS2, though, I’ll make minor mentions of some information revealed in the NG+ quest, as well. (Though I won’t talk about THAT reveal.)

I’m also doing my best to do minimal references to things outside of the English released Trails games, so people who have not played them can read and participate in any discussion brought about by this post. There will be one instance where I bring up 3rd, but it will be based on something from Translation Tuesday.

Hello, Mr. Nielsen! Who The Heck Are You?

Suspicious characters are suspicious. Suspicious journalists are something else entirely. He first appeared briefly in 3rd, and has since made another appearance that didn’t help his situation in being suspicious!

I’ve been extremely suspicious of this journalist since his first appearance in 3rd- but I’m glad to know that I’m not alone. In fact, I’m quite pleased to know that I’m not the only one who has made, and believes some of the things stated on a Japanese wiki. So instead of compiling everything I see, much of this will be translated from here, (Guan has translated it here) though I will also interject many personal anecdotes in this as well.

Note, there are MAJOR Ao no Kiseki spoilers in this post!

[Submitted Question] About that Theory of Rean in Sen no Kiseki III…

Oh boy, I love answering questions on my theories. That basically forces me to re-evaluate them, and that’s how you test them! So thank you for the submission!

Today’s question comes from Neko_Isabelle!

As this plays along a theory that pulls in info from other games, this will contain multiple series spoilers.

The question and my answer are both under the cut!

Rean’s Motivation: The Direction of Sen no Kiseki III

I’m still not entirely sure of whether or not Rean will be the main character of the upcoming Sen no Kiseki III, but there’s no ignoring the fact that he’ll absolutely be in the game. Especially after the little reveal from the Tokyo Xanadu eX+ trailer.

However, Rean’s position in Sen III is in the air! Finish Sen II/Cold Steel II to find out why people are confused! Kondo promised a gamechanger, and that’s what Falcom delivered.

As a result, if you haven’t finished the game, please do not continue beyond the cut, for this is dangerous, spoiler-filled territory!

Before ‘hai yorokonde’, there was proto Star Door 15

Trails in the Sky the 3rd, as we can now officially call it, provides a wealth of background information of the Zemurian continent and its history through its gaiden, or side stories. You’ll be able to enjoy dozens of these once the games hits digital shelves in 2017. Some of those, however, are inaccessible through the game and are hidden among the tens of thousands of lines that did make it into the game. Today we got one of those: the pre-release or prototype version of Star Door 15.
